Creative Employment Opportunities

CEO offers a variety of services that help the individual find community employment.

Some of these services include:

  • internships that allow people to work in the community for up to 40 hours.
  • Passport of employment that provides people with skills that they can develop in order to get a job.
  • Computer classes which can be an added skill for a job. This is an at-your-own- pace and you receive a certificate in the end.
  • Benefits analysis determines how work will have an impact on a person's benefits (SSI or SSDI).
  • Individualized job development looks at the person at a whole with family included to complete applications, develop resume, or even help with the interview component.
  • On the job support is offered to give support during the person's job.
  • Project excel works with local businesses to provide internships and training.
  • REDI is a training that is offered to help with work at Walgreens within Waukesha County.
  • BOND is created to help with SSDI and earnings.

COST OF SERVICES:

There is no fee for a person that is hired through CEO. However, there are additional services that do require a fee.

INTAKE PROCEDURE

In order to be eligible, register with an employment services officer from the employment funding partners. You simply need to say that you are interested, and they will help meet your needs by scheduling further meetings. Then these partners can refer you to CEO.

Harrigan Development Services

This organization provides both vocational and supportive services to individuals with disabilities.

Our Supportive Services programming includes our Individual Support Services in which clients and families work one-on-one with an advanced practice social worker to help develop an individualized support plan focused on increasing safety, engaging in social activities, and exploring supports within their community. Our COMPASS Peer Groups are for young adults with Autism or developmental disabilities ages 17-30 with a focus on creating environments that promote friendships along with practicing social and independent living skills.

Our vocational services program works with individuals transitioning from school to work and those who are re-entering the workforce. HDS has a team of job developers and job coaches whose experience and expertise center around helping clients with varying disabilities and employment needs. Whether assisting with the development of internships or permanent employment sites, the HDS team prides itself in finding innovative and creative ways to help individuals with the job search process.

Harrigan Development Services also assists businesses to fulfill their diverse labor needs with pre-evaluated and job-ready candidates. Employers who seek out HDS are typically interested in finding qualified interns or permanent employees.

INDEPENDENCE FIRST

SERVICES

Independence First helps people find their goals and help them make it happen. They promote independent living for people with disabilities. They provide help for employment, skill building, accessible housing, recreation, transportation, caregiving, and help make your business or home accessible. Independence First will help people find jobs based on their skills and will help provide training.

COST OF SERVICES

The cost of the services depends on which program is needed. Costs range from $5 to $40.

MCFI provides several services including children's programs, teen and young adult programs, adult and older adult programs, employment services, mental health services, and therapies. Specifically for their employment services, MCFI provides support and services that adults with special needs may need because of their barriers to employment.
