On May 6th we had the amazing opportunity to hear from the Boucher family about their journey with mental health. The parents shared their emotions of finding out their child needed help, offered advice as to who to look to, and talked about tips on talking with other siblings. Connor, their 19-year old son, talked about his struggles with depression, self-harm, and his continued journey as a transgender male. He offers his own perspective and advice for both young adults and parents.

On April 1st, 2021 the Weymouth Police Department joined the WPS Social Emotional Team to talk about keeping children and adolescents safe online. They shared trends they're seeing from the community as well as suggestions on how parents/caregivers can intervene with their young person. The SEL team shared insight into the social emotional impact of internet harassement and provided resources for parents/caregivers and for students.

INTERFACE is a free service available to all Weymouth residents for finding counseling support in the community. Paul Williams from the Weymouth Health Department joined us to explain how this great resource can be used by all residents. The WPS SEL Team also looked at the resource guide and other mental health options for families in Weymouth.

Held on December 16th, 2020, this orientation to MassSupport introduces families to the range of resources available through their network. The MassSupport Network provides free community outreach and support services to residents of all ages across the state in response to the unprecedented public health crisis, COVID-19.
