This document offers an overview of our policies regarding arranging for your wedding in our church building. We are an open and affirming church which offers an open-armed welcome to all who seek our services.
If desired, one of our pastors might be available to preside at your wedding. Please make an appointment through the church administrator to discuss this with the pastor if desired. The pastor will discuss necessary steps, scheduling and professional fees.
Our minister of music may also be available if desired. Again, the church administrator would be glad to schedule a meeting.
We encourage you to review this document carefully, arrange to meet our church administrator, and tour our church.
If you feel our church is right for your wedding, ask about the availability of our campus for your wedding rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and/or reception as needed. A Reservation Hold Deposit is required to hold your reservation.
Our Main Sanctuary, completed in 1845 and renovated in the 1920s and again in 2020, seats 250 to 300 people. It houses an excellent pipe organ and a well-tuned piano.
We have a meeting hall that is well suited for receptions if desired. It is also a perfect venue for smaller, more intimate weddings that might combine the wedding and reception.
If you decide to hold your wedding ceremony and/or reception at Our church, the next step is to reserve the facilities you want for your wedding date. Your wedding rehearsal and ceremony should be booked on our church master calendar with the church administrator.
The Church Administrator will provide you with a copy of the signed facilities use agreement for your records.
You, the couple getting married, are responsible for securing your marriage license from the County Clerk. The presiding pastor/officiant for your ceremony may take responsibility for mailing the signed document after the ceremony.
Our sexton (custodian) will be present for one (1) hour to assist with access for your wedding rehearsal. To set up a rehearsal date and time, please contact the Church Administrator.
For safety considerations, all decorations for your service and reception must be reviewed and approved by the Church Administrator prior to your wedding.
The church does not provide an aisle runner. If you choose to use an aisle runner as part of your wedding ceremony, you will need to rent or buy this elsewhere. Florists generally offer disposable or cloth carpets as part of their services.
We allow bubbles blown outdoors, after your ceremony or reception. Out of concern for the environment, we do not allow the throwing of confetti, rice, or birdseed outdoors or elsewhere on our campus. We also do not allow the releasing of balloons for the same reason.
If alcohol is to be served then please see our church policy on alcohol use.
We are pleased to offer you and your guests a smoke-free environment. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the church campus, including the church grounds.
It is Our church policy to have a member of the church staff or a member of the Board of Trustees or their representative present at all events held on campus.
We are pleased to share our facilities with you and your guests, and we ask that everyone who uses our campus do so with care and respect for the church property and everyone on the premises.
To support this ministry, there may be instances where you forfeit some or all of your deposit for damage caused to church property by persons involved with your wedding. Each group shall be wholly responsible for any damages incurred as a result of its activity. Users will clean up when finished and return furniture to previous positions. Replacement of furniture or fixtures, repair charges, or excessive cleanup time will result in charges against the Damage and Cleaning Deposit.
One of the church sextons (caretakers) will set up for your rehearsal and wedding, operate the sound system (including playing any pre-recorded music) for your service, and clean up afterwards. Please remove any flowers, decorations, rented equipment, and personal property immediately following the service or our staff may discard it. General cleanup is required.
We do not offer in-house catering, linen service, party decorations, a band, or other entertainment.
Please note: You are responsible for providing all dishes, linens, napkins, utensils and silverware. Most caterers can supply these items, or they can be purchased or rented at party supply stores. For more information about using our kitchen facilities, please contact the Church Administrator.
Please remember that this building is our faith community’s home. We worship, celebrate new births, morn our losses and fellowship together here. Please respect our home as you celebrate your marriage.
