Anatomies
Anatomies, was a personal favorite. The play is about these two men, Burke and Hare who thought that they could get away with selling dead bodies to the university after an elderly man died is Mr. Hare's lodging house. The began killing people that they lured into the lodging house and some of the characters like Mr. Ferguson, a young doctor who dissected the bodies that they had brought in, began to catch on to what was really going on. Burke and Hare's "girlfriends" helped them for some of the profit. I acted as Janet Brown, a young whore who is friends with Mary Patterson, the most well-known whore of all of Edinburgh. Burke and Hare pick up the two ladies somewhere on the streets and decide to take them home "for a few drinks". Janet quickly realizes there is something off about the two men and tries to hint at Mary to leave but she dismisses Janet's concern by drinking and flirting with the men. Janet flees the scene when Burke's girlfriend chases her and Mary around the room with a frying pan for flirting with him. Janet later comes to the University laboratory to ask where Mary has been because she can't find her, and finds her lying on the table underneath a white sheet along with daft Jamie, another very well known member of the town. After this discovery, Mr. Hare tells the police of all the murders so that he could get off the hook, ad the two women said they had no idea any of it was happening. Burke was hanged for his crimes and the other 3 were set free for their trade of information.
