Student Technology Assistance Team (STAT)

Westwood High School is a 1:1 learning environment and the STAT Student Help Desk is a vital resource for students and teachers. Located in the Library, the STAT Desk provides students with Chromebook service and support. Members of the STAT team distribute loaner Chromebooks, repair hardware issues, and help both students and staff with their technological needs. If you've got a problem with your computer, come visit the STAT Desk!

Interested in becoming a member of the STAT Team?

STAT is a year-long course best suited for students who enjoy problem-solving, technology, and teaching and helping others. Student interns staff the STAT Help Desk one block per day, five out of the seven-day cycle. In addition, all interns are required to cover the Student Help Desk during S-Block, one block every two weeks.

STAT members are the first point of contact in providing help and support to both students and teachers in troubleshooting and solving problems, as well as providing assistance and training in managing Chromebooks. STAT members also assist with light library duties as needed.

The roles and responsibilities of STAT members include: troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with Chromebooks or apps, repairing hardware issues, distributing loaner Chromebooks, providing excellent customer service, training others in specific Chrome apps, and potentially assisting teachers with the use of Chromebooks during class.

If you are interested in joining the STAT Team for the 2023-2024 school year, be sure to forecast for this internship during the course selection period in the spring. See Ms. Misuta, Ms. Fisher or Mr. Ouellette with any STAT questions.
