Unit "CAN DO" - I can talk about my life at school
Objetivos
We will be talking about our school days and comparing them to a typical school day in Spain. At the end of this unit, you'll be able to do the following:
-use the verbs 'hay' with various nouns to describe places, particularly in a school setting
-use verbs like GUSTAR to describe people's likes/dislikes/general preferences
-describe people and things using the verb SER with concrete & abstract adjectives
-use ESTAR to describe various emotions and conditions of people & things
-use verbs in the present tense to talk about daily routines and what people do
-make comparisons between your school day and those of students in the Spanish-speaking world
In order to achieve the tasks above with accurate communication, we are also focusing on the following specific grammar issues:
-using infinitives after de/a/por/para
-using para to indicate purpose and por to indicate an approximate time of day or a duration of time
-using indirect object pronouns to indicate to whom or for whom we do something
-using the personal a correctly so that our sentences clearly indicate who is doing the action and who is receiving the action.
-using 'en' to say 'at a place'
-properly using accents/tildes in our written work to promote accuracy and enhance understanding of our message
-improving our understanding of Spanish phonology to spell and pronouns words correctly in order to communicate effectively
