Hello I'm Mrs Bainsfair and I teach in Potter class on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I am also the Forest School Lead at Westwood and enjoy teaching Forest School to our EYFS pupils.
I was very excited to be able to welcome you all to our Reception classes at Westwood. I cannot wait to begin our learning journey together. We will have so much fun during our learning, lots of activities to do and books to read; as well as things to discover in our exploring and learning areas. I am a Forest School leader and can’t wait to share my love of outdoor learning with you all!
When I’m not at work I like to go for long walks in parks, woodlands and the coast with my family. I have two grandchildren who love to explore the woods, climbing tree, building dens and collecting natural objects. I am looking forward to finding out about the things that you like to do when you aren’t at school!

Hi, I'm Mrs Stevens. I thoroughly enjoy being a reception teacher, not only playing a huge role in laying the foundations for their future success and learning, but also helping them grow in confidence and become independent learners. I particularly enjoy participating in play and pursuing the children's interests both inside and outside the classroom. Teaching early years keeps me on my toes; I'm always ready to capture their moment of curiosity and teach what is relevant to them at that moment in time. One of the greatest privileges, teaching reception, is seeing the progress the children are continuously making in all areas of learning and development. It is incredibly rewarding and I hope through my love and enthusiasm of teaching Early years, I can give children the best start in their school journey.
Hi everyone! My name is Mrs Grant and I teach in Jeffers class on Fridays. I am so excited to begin your school journey with you this year, we are going to have so much fun learning so many new things! I really enjoy following your interests during our exploring and learning sessions and finding out what interests you, from measuring in the water area to building in the construction area and everything in between. I also really enjoy sharing stories. Reading together allows us to enter a world of imagination and endless possibilities!
During my free time, I enjoy going on days out with my two children and family, especially going to the beach on warmer days and exploring the forests during the cooler months.
