Real-life experiences are the core of the HATCH program. Industry has the opportunity to engage innovative and forward-thinking students to dive deeper into the problem while creating a scalable solution. These students will work on diverse teams to present a solution as well as work through the implementation process.
Students thrive when a task is real and meaningful. Your business has the opportunity to take that problem that always seems to get pushed to the bottom of the to-do list and give our students a chance at it. Students will spend a 1/2 day discovery session in your organization learning more about the culture, engaging with key players, and better understanding the nature of the problem.
Following a discovery session, teams will work on Westside High School's campus to take their learnings and begin developing a solution to the problem. It is important for our students to chase problems and ask the right questions to truly get to the root of the problem before any solution is developed.
Key players from the organization should be available for short support meetings, using their preferred contact method, as the students go through iterations of solutions.
In the agreed timeframe, teams will then present the solution to key players allowing your organization the opportunity to choose a "winning" solution. The "winning" solution team will then work alongside your key players to implement the solution completing the cycle.
