Sing the song and do the body percussion. How fast can you sing it alone? Teach another person and try it with a partner. Good luck!

It sounds weird to us in the year 2020 but this was a big hit song in 1595. These guys can really sing well, my favorite is the guy on the left. I bet that the old people complained about this "new" music.

His music was so cool that one of the coolest guitar players in history used it on a hit song.
Born this week was Richard (Ree-kard) Wagner (1813-1883). He only wrote music for the Opera and is the "god" of German Opera. Wagner and Beethoven are considered the greatest German composers. He introduced the leitmotif, a melody played to represent different characters. Think of the Darth Vader theme and Jaws theme. You hear those melodies when the character appears in the story.
Wagner hated Italian Opera (remember Verdi from a few weeks ago). He thought that it was too pretty and fluffy so he wrote MACHO Music. His Operas The Ring of the Nibelung are about 3 hours long for each opera and there are 4 of them. The story is about the Norse Gods (Thor, Odin) and Ragnarok (the end of the world) meets the Lord of the Rings, they are pretty awesome and really Macho.
Thanks Wagner. Plus he rocks the neck beard.
For more info on Wagner:
This is Wagner's most famous music. The Valkyrie are women warriors, kind of like angles. In this song they are flying down to Earth after a battle to collect the bones of the warriors that have died. They take the bone to Valhalla (heaven) so the warriors can live in paradise.
This is called the bridal chorus from the Opera Lohengrin written by Wagner. I guarantee that you will know this music.
Remember it's pronounced Ree-kard Varg-ner not Richard Wagner.
