COME ON DOWN! The LMC IS YOURS. Please take advantage of the flexible space the LMC provides to support and enhance your instruction. If you'd like to schedule use of an LMC space you can check the availability three ways:
Join the CMS Library Media Center Calendar or the LMC Classroom Calendar to view availability, then email your request to Rosemary Metke.
Subscribe to the LMC calendars in your Google calendar (I can show you how) and view availability, then email your request to Rosemary Metke.
Simply email Rosemary Metke with your request, and she'll check the availability and schedule your date/time for you.
The LMC has two main work spaces:.
LMC Main Space - a large, group presentation area that includes a pull-down screen/projector, full sound system, one presentation computer, and enough seating for two full classes with moveable tables on wheels.
LMC Classroom - includes a wall-mounted monitor with desktop computer to display your slides or other content as well as seating for a full class with six tables that can be arranged according to your needs.
TO SELECT A BOOK OR PICK UP PRINTING
Students are allowed to visit the library at any time during the school day as long as they present a pass from their teacher that includes: the student's name, time, purpose of visit, and teacher signature.
Any students that arrive in the LMC without a pass will be sent back. This ensures that all students are accounted for and have the permission of a staff member to be in the library.
FOR TESTING OR TO COMPLETE AN ASSIGNMENT
Please send students with a pass, as stated above, and also ask them to check in at the circulation desk to let us know that they will be staying to work. We will ask them to sign in for attendance purposes.
You can find log in information for each subscription in a document linked to the top of the Information Resources page.
I am available to provide instruction and support to students and teachers regarding the use of our print and digital information resources.
Do NOT HESITATE to email me or visit to talk about resources.
The laminator is located in the LMC. Laminating is completed as quickly as possible based on need and library staff availability. If you have laminating to be done, please put a sticky note on the item(s) with your name and when you need it completed by. Then, leave the items by the laminator or on the counter BEHIND the circulation desk.
You will receive an email when your laminating is complete. You can pick up your items from behind the circulation desk.
The LMC has headphones and mice that can be loaned to both students and teachers upon request. We ask that if you intend to do a project that involves borrowing this type of equipment you give us a heads up (whenever possible) so that we can be sure to prepare everything in advance in order to save you instructional time.
Students may also come to the LMC to charge their Chromebook or use a Chromebook if they forgot theirs at home. These loaner chargers and Chromebooks must remain in the LMC; they cannot be checked out to students.
Any student or staff member who is experiencing tech issues of any kind may bring their device to the LMC and speak with Mrs. Metke for assistance.
Printers - The color (CMS-LMC-C01) and black & white (CMS-LMC-BW01) printers are labeled with signs in the LMC. The B&W printer is also a photocopier for teacher use. If students need photocopying, they should ask for help from Mrs. Metke.
Large Format Printer - is located in the LMC behind the charging tables and is for teacher use only. Directions for how to print large documents are posted near the printer. Please speak to Rosemary Metke before printing so we can ensure there is enough paper and ink for your project and to support you as you learn how to get the settings right.
