I am Mrs. Santimauro! This year marks my 16th year teaching 7th grade at Roosevelt! Math has always been a passion of mine and I hope that after this year, I can convince you that math really isn't that bad!! Many moons ago, I received my Bachelor's Degree from Manhattan College in Mathematics and Secondary Education. When I was there, I minored in Computer Science and Spanish, managed the radio station, sang in the choir, and participated in many volunteer activities. I then completed my Master's Degree in Mathematics at Montclair State! I am a very "Google-y" teacher and I love learning new ways to infuse technology into my classroom so I became a Level 1 Google Certified Educator and I hope to teach you children some cool things using Google!
Eight years ago, my husband and I got the dog of our dreams...a Newfoundland, who we named Shelby! We started training her from day one and we love to bring her everywhere we go! Shelby's favorite things include swimming, hiking, going to the beach, eating, and sleeping. She is a professional napper!
Besides playing with and training Shelby, I like going hiking, cycling, playing the guitar, singing, horseback riding, and gardening! I am also a part-time Therapeutic Horseback Riding Instructor at a Therapeutic Riding Center called Pony Power. Our goal at Pony Power is to connect children and adults who need extra support with the wonders of horses, farming, and nature. I also love listening to music, I love Snoopy and the Peanuts characters, and I am a HUGE Harry Potter (Go Hufflepuff!) and Lord of the Rings Fan. I am very much looking forward to this school year and cannot wait to get to know you better!
