Students kicked off November with the Fall pep rally that had all of Roosevelt celebrating in the gym.
The first winter orchestra concert jump started our winter activities for the next few months to come.
Marking period 1 has come to a close. Please make sure you view your child's report card in Powerschool. If you have any questions, please reach out to their teacher first as they have the information you need.
Continue to make sure your children are checking their emails and Google Classrooms on a daily basis. The marking period is ending very soon!

ENGINEERING CAMP AT WOHS
Engineering Explorations is announcing that registrations are now open for our Winter Edition of camp at West Orange High School.
Dates are:
Monday - December 29th
Tuesday - December 30th
Wednesday - December 31st
Times are 9:00 am to 1:30 pm
Courses include:
Simply STEM (8-9 years old) - Robot Maze and Ping Pong Ball Launcher
3D Printing (9-13 years old) - 3D Printed Winter Hats, Vinyl Mugs and Long Sleeve Shirts
Engineering Concepts (9-12 years old) - RC Truck and Pinball Machine
Students will enjoy our "Tech Recess" which includes virtual reality, vintage video game systems, RC cars, Mini Drones, and Laser Tag!

In December, we will conduct Heritage written testing for all 8th graders who are fluent in another language at home. That includes students who speak Spanish, Mandarin, Italian, or French (not creole). The purpose of this test is to appropriately place students in the High School’s World Language program. We will keep you updated with the date.

The cost of the ALA program (for both ALA 8-9 and ALA 10-11), which covers room/board & tuition, is $2,700. Apply by the early application deadlines above, by submitting your application and supplementary materials, to receive the premium $1,300 rate. Apply by the regular application deadlines above to receive the standard $1,600 rate.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so prompt submission is strongly encouraged.

Program Overview:
The Accelerated Learning Academy (ALA) hosts two separate STEM programs: the ALA program for 8th-9th graders and the ALA program for 10th-11th graders.
In both programs, students take interactive workshops in 1 of 4 tracks:
Applied Mathematics
Artificial Intelligence & Technology
Biomedical Engineering & Technology
Medical Science
Program Duration
Each program will occur over three weekends throughout the school year. Students residentially stay overnight at a hotel. ALA Workshops occur on the campus of Princeton University.
