Learners in Westminster Public Schools are expected to demonstrate mastery in the Colorado Academic Standards to ensure our students are prepared for success in college and careers. These standards are unpacked in our WPS proficiency scales, which clearly describe what students need to know and be able to do. Teachers create units of instruction aligned to the proficiency scales, which offer your child the opportunity to experience rigorous lessons, authentic assessments and project-based learning.

These guides offer some learning experiences students may engage in at school that may also be supported at home. Keep in mind, in our Comptency Based System, your child may be working on standards at, above or below grade level based on their readiness, performance and mastery.
