Come be a mentor for 9th and 10th grade students! The YESS philosophy focuses on creating leadership from within and strengthening leadership qualities in mentees. We seek to provide student leaders the framework and skills to be positive role models to their peers; hence to empower and serve the community from within. We focus on developing self-confidence, respect and integrity; achievement; caring about others and leadership.

Student Mentors embody the YESS Mentoring philosophy and helps students with the Four I's:
- INTROSPECTION: The core of leadership and role modeling. To influence society, we believe it has to start from within: clear values, beliefs and motivators.
- INTEGRATION: The ability to monitor, control and manage behavior. It allows us to better our relationships with others through exemplary role modeling.
- INSPIRATION: Behaviors that inspire others to be and do their best. It brings out the best in others, from one-on-one relationships to group dynamics.
- INFLUENCE: It replicates and emulates, and shapes healthy communities. It creates a ripple effect, inspiring good behavior that’s contagious.

YESS Student Mentors receive very strong support in planning and preparing for their own future after high school, including college counseling.
Being a mentor is also fantastic for resumes, college and scholarship applications!
