Prerequisite (classes you must take first) and Requirements:
Acceptance into IB CP program (see below for more info)
Registered for two IB courses that you're interested in or that apply to your Career Related Study (CRS)
Enrolled in a CTE/PLTW career pathway with the goal to complete a minimum of two years of coursework during your time in the IB CP program (see options below)
Grades: 11-12
Certifications/Awards Offered: This is a two year course that helps students complete the core requirements to earn the IB CP Certificate
College Credit: Students will have an opportunity to earn college credit through their IB courses and CTE/PLTW career pathway classes
Length of class: Year
Credit: 2.0 (1.0 credit per year)
Students complete 5 hands-on, project-based learning projects that include:
Personal Development
Communication
Ethics
Intercultural Understanding
Thinking
Students are also responsible for building a PPS portfolio that will include:
Completion of the 5 units of study
50 Service Learning hours within or outside of your CRS
50 Language Development hours in a second language of your choice
Completion of the reflective project which is a thorough investigation into an ethical dilemma in your career-related study
The IB CP (Career-Related) Programme is specifically geared for students who have identified a specific career path and are interested in employment, apprenticeships or further/higher education. The pathways available at WHS include:

This course will provide students the opportunity to build networks within their desired field of study as well as get the experience of the rigor of the IB program which will prepare you for both college and/or your career.
This is a two year course that helps students complete the core requirements to earn the IB CP Certificate.
Students who successfully compete the PPS course and pass each of their diploma classes will graduate with an IB certificate giving them a competitive edge in the job market and towards college acceptance.
You will receive an overall IB score based on material you submit to be graded by both your teacher and the IB program.
At the end of the two years you will take an IB exam for each IB course as well as submit your service & language hours and your reflective project as your capstone project for the PPS course.
The college you attend will determine the amount of college credit you receive based on your IB scores for each exam.
