Medical Forensics

Have you ever wondered how crime scene investigators, medical examiners, and other forensic scientists do their job? Did you know that forensic investigation and the medical field often work together to solve crimes? This course is for you! Students in this class will have the opportunity to learn the processes and tools used in forensic investigators by gathering evidence and posing a possible solution to a real-life cold case. This class will also help students understand how biotechnology can be applied to the example of a forensic death investigation. 

Prerequisite (classes you must take first): Completion of Eng/Lang 2 and Integrated Math 2 (or equivalent)

This class would be a great option for any student who is interested in a career in forensics, crime scene investigation, or the medical field. This course would also be a great experience for any student who is interested in a career in law enforcement or would like to know more about how forensic investigations work

Other Info you should know

This course will be offered at the new Ranum campus beginning in the Fall of 2024.  Students will be provided one-way transportation and the course will be double-blocked in either the morning or afternoon.  Students will sign a contract committing to participation in the entirety of the course. 

Students may be able to earn core credit through engagement in these courses.
