Some of the projects that students will work on in this class include:
DNA fingerprinting to identify a crime victim
Identification of human skeletal remains
Simulated autopsy
Forensic examination of fingerprints
Collection of forensic evidence at a crime scene
Use of medical information to solve a cold case!
This class would be a great option for any student who is interested in a career in forensics, crime scene investigation, or the medical field. This course would also be a great experience for any student who is interested in a career in law enforcement or would like to know more about how forensic investigations work.
This course will be offered at the new Ranum campus beginning in the Fall of 2024. Students will be provided one-way transportation and the course will be double-blocked in either the morning or afternoon. Students will sign a contract committing to participation in the entirety of the course.
Students may be able to earn core credit through engagement in these courses.
