Since 1931, Kitzbühel, Austria has held the world's most reputable ski race known as the Hahnenkamm Races. It wasn't until 1987 that they opened the poster design contest to independent artists. This design encompasses the theme of "Hahnenkamm", which means 'roosters comb', as the poster features a snow-covered rooster heading down the slopes. Within the animal's ski goggles are reflections of other skiers, hoping to reach the finish line. The smile of the rooster and the arms of celebration from the front-most skier give an overall look and feel of happiness and triumph.
