Kia ora koutou and welcome to our class site.
I'm looking forward to having you in my class this year.
Your facilitator in brief
My name is Shalendra Dutt, and I am truly honoured to be part of the Westland High School family. I originate from the beautiful island of Fiji. I hold a teaching certificate, a Bachelor’s degree in education, a postgraduate, and Master’s degree in educational leadership. These qualifications have not only shaped my understanding of education but have also fueled my passion for teaching. I have been teaching for the past 24 years.
For me, teaching is not just a profession; it’s a calling. I am deeply committed to inspiring my students, helping them unlock their potential, and shaping their futures. Every lesson I teach is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on their lives, both academically and personally.
Beyond the classroom, I have a great love for sports. I believe that the lessons learned on the field—teamwork, perseverance, and discipline—are just as valuable as those learned in the classroom. My goal is to bring this same spirit of growth and resilience into my teaching approach.
As an educator, my mission is simple: to shape the future of my students, guiding them toward success, both in their education and in life. I am excited to continue this journey and to be a part of the bright future that lies ahead for all of them.
