The senior visual arts program is based around student led artistic inquiry. Students create a suite of works throughout the year, with artwork that draws on ideas developed from personal research and drawing. Students are encouraged to draw inspiration from established artistic practiceand visual culture, and develop their own ideas and style. NCEA level 1 students are encouraged to try printmaking and painting, while Level 2 & 3 students will be working in one or the other. The folio board will lead towards 12 external credits for NCEA level 1 & 2, and 14 for level 3. The work towards these boards can be used as evidence for internal credits also.
