Conservation class is a Middle School option in which students are involved in an active programme to protect and enhance the native flora and fauna of Aotearoa New Zealand by being involved in conservation actions like; replanting native plants, protecting native birds and animals and their habitats, and control invasive predators.
The programme sits within the New Zealand Curriculum.

Gear for field trips
Field trips can occur in wet and muddy conditions.
Students will need:
Gumboots or sturdy footwear (not school shoes)
Raincoat/ jacket
Warm layer - Fleece or wool layer
Long pants or shorts with gaiters recommended
Students will need to wear their school uniform prior to the trip.
Hazards: Students need to be aware that we will be walking on unformed tracks and exposed to plants like ongaonga - stinging nettle and tātarāmoa - bush lawyer
