School psychologists are uniquely qualified members of school teams:
supporting students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach.
Apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed.
Partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.
More specifically, at WCS, I work closely with both the MTSS (Multi Tiered level Support System) team as well as the Ed. Specialists. I consult on academic, behavioral, and social/emotional interventions for the MTSS and Special Education team. I complete assessments for students who have an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) or may need one. I also provide counseling and behavioral services to students who are unable to access their IEP goals due to emotional or behavioral challenges. Lastly, I provide staff and parents with information on how disabilities can impact learning and what students with special needs require in order to be the best they can be.
