Packing List

This 8th grade trip is going to take us to a variety of locations, so we need to be prepared!

Included in the list below are all acceptable items that you may bring on the trip. Make sure to label everything you bring.

Suggested Clothing:

Santa Cruz weather is difficult to predict! You should be prepared for sun, clouds, wind, rain...you name it! It will be very chilly at night, so bring layers!


Monday

Volunteering: Jeans, shorts, or comfortable pants, t-shirt, sunglasses, athletic shoes, sweatshirt.

Beach: Sweatshirt, shorts or pants, sandals.

Evening: Comfortable pants, sweatshirt, multiple layers (it gets very cold at night!), warm socks, boots or athletic shoes (that will probably get dirty), warm pajamas.


Tuesday

UCSC/Boardwalk: Shorts or pants, t-shirt or tank top, sweatshirt, comfortable shoes (athletic or sandals).

Meals Provided or Purchased

WCS will be providing students with dinner cooked on our campground Monday night and breakfast Tuesday morning. Students are responsible to bring their own bag lunch for Monday and to purchase lunch on the Boardwalk on Tuesday.

Cell Phone/Electronics Use Policy

Students are welcome to bring electronics or cell phones on their trip for use during the bus ride and while we are at locations. All cell phones and electronic devices must be collected by the trip administrator upon arrival at Sunset State Beach campgrounds and will be locked up during the night. All devices will be returned to the students upon departure from campsite.

Tent Share

Students will be grouped in tents. Groups will be monitored by teachers and approved parent chaperones. Adult tents will be spread out throughout student tents. Boy and girl tent groups will be separated.
