Meet Ms. McIver

Wow, what a year we are having! I’m appreciating partnering with students and families as we navigate this unprecedented year. The challenges are great but there is also an amazing opportunity to reevaluate practices and expectations and focus on the well-being, engagement, and learning of each student. Each of my students (and their families) are co-teachers as we experience this new reality and find success. I'm loving learning alongside you!

I’m so grateful to be part of the Westlake team. I previously taught in the Bay Area and this is my fourth year teaching at WCS. I live here in the Natomas community with my spouse and two young children.

I love teaching humanities because it allows me to be responsive to students, integrate relevant content and diverse voices, and create a community around the joy and growth that reading, writing, and critical thinking provide.
