Hi, my name is Mrs. Mantooth and I am so excited to be your second grade teacher! This is my second year teaching 2nd grade at Westlake and I’m so happy to be back. I think the Westlake community is a special place. I also coach both girls and boys volleyball for the high school, be sure to come check out a game!
A quick personal overview of my life: I grew up around the globe as my father did 20 years in the Air Force. I was fortunate enough to live in Asia, Europe, Hawaii, and now California! I spent the first four years of my career running the children’s program at the Food Bank of Nevada County where I was in charge of feeding ten thousand children yearly. I absolutely loved my job, but felt driven to have more of a personal impact on children and their development, so I decided to pursue teaching. I graduated from the University of Redlands with Summa Cum Laude honors where I played college volleyball. I have my undergraduate degree in English, meaning that I specialize in teaching phonics and literacy. I did my first year teaching in 1st grade at Franklin Elementary School in Southern California.
Our school year will be filled with lots of fun and learning. I am so passionate about helping your child reach their full academic and social emotional potential. I’m so excited for the opportunity to go on this journey together. You will see so much growth!
