About the Teacher & Contact Info

Introduction:

I graduated from Chico State in 2010 with my BA in Kinesiology, and went on to get my P.E. credential from Chico State in 2011. From there, I went on to teach P.E. in Vietnam for 2 years. I came back and taught in the Bay Area for a another 2 years before relocating to Sacramento. More recently, in the spring of 2021, I completed my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I started at Westlake in 2015, and was drawn here because of Westlake's emphasis on Global Perspective and that Westlake prioritizes educating the whole child. I believe, especially in this day and age, P.E. plays an important role in children's lives. My daily objective in my classes is to give my students the tools they need in order to live a physically active lifestyle. This means more than just learning the rules of basketball or running laps. I want to lay a strong foundation for my explorers so that they one day, have the knowledge, confidence, and ability to be physically active for life.
