Hello, I'm Tellina di Giuseppe da Fiesole. While I'm typically thought of as a cook, I wanted to share a different sort of project. Over the course of several months in late 2020 and early 2021 I participated in a costuming challenge called the Calontir Clothing Challenge. Participants were asked to create a complete skin out look consisting of four layers and including at least one piece created without sewing. I opted for an outfit appropriate for a pilgrim from mid-15th century Tuscany.

There is a pilgrim depicted on the wall of San Martino del Vescovo in Florence that has inspired me since I began my SCA journey. In this project I decided to take her inspiration and create my own pilgrim impression. This fresco is from later in the century, so I made some small adjustments to pull the period back to my target 1460s.
The base dress in Tuscany is call the gamurra. This one is made of heavier wool for travel in cold weather.
