The arrows are made by using standard shafts (11/32nds) or dowel with a penny or nickel taped flat over the end to make a blunt end. Then we put some closed cell foam over the penny and wrap the foam up the shaft. Lastly we add another thicker layer of foam (open cell type) and wrap the whole mess in either fabric tape or duct tape. Pretty basic, just make sure that the end, once finished is at least 2 inches in diameter.
