UMOJA & Social Justice Coalition
Our clubs have been active in the mission of “lifting as we climb” by creating safe spaces for students to use their voices about social justice, celebrating our multicultural community, creating educational videos for our school staff and raising money for our Reading Buddies program.
Reading Buddies provides books to students in our elementary schools and helps build classroom libraries. While we provide books to classrooms all year, in the spring we visit one of our schools to partner with 150+ students to give books and read with them one-on-one. Since the creation of our clubs three years ago we have put over 500 books into classrooms.
