Transformation

Overview

In this module, you will learn how Seesaw works and will integrate it into a lesson plan.

Objectives

  • Create a Seesaw account and set up a class
  • Manage class settings
  • Experiment with class feed and activity options
  • Transform a traditional lesson by strategically integrating Seesaw to task students with documenting their learning.

Student Responsibilities

Please review the linked resources below, complete the tasks, and share your thoughts on Google Classroom.

Tasks

    • Visit Seesaw and sign-up for a free Teacher account with your school-issued Google account.
    • Create a new class and decide how you want your students to join (I strongly recommend using email/Google Account)
    • Invite your students to join your class (Seesaw will provide you with instructions). If you are taking this class in the summer, see if you can invite a colleague to play the role of "student" in your class. You are welcome to collaborate with someone who is taking this class with you in the summer.
    • Manage your class settings (student viewing rights, moderating posts, parent access, etc.)
    • Add the following items to your Class Feed to experience the functionality of each: Photo, Video, Drawing, Upload File, Note, Link
    • Transform a lesson plan by tasking your students with creating any three of the above items and provide them with feedback on their work

Discuss

Complete the following on Google Classroom.

    • Evaluate Seesaw as a teaching and learning tool.
    • Share your thoughts on how you might use this with students or colleagues.
    • Feel free to comment on at least one other student's note.
