Note: Unless a ticket is marked as No Action Required, they should ALL get a note back to the instructor detailing what you did, not what the student said. You have the option of typing your own notes to the instructor or you can use one of the templates provided in SEADS.
When completing the SST Activities tab, only mark the boxes that you were able to complete. You do not need to type notes in these boxes because you will enter those in the other tabs.
The SST Course Notes tab is where you can leave detailed notes regarding your outreach with the student. When leaving notes here, think about what would be helpful for you if the student called you back weeks later or for another SST member to know if they receive a ticket for the same student.
Notes to the Instructor should be, mostly, limited to documenting what you did to contact the student. You do not need to go into great detail about what was discussed. We want the student to reach out and go into more detail about whatever the issue is. When you leave a note here, the instructor will get an email directing them to log in to SEADS to view your note.
***Don't forget about the Note Template options for both SST Course Notes and Notes to Instructor***
Once you have completed your outreach to the student and completed SST Activities, SST Course Notes, and Notes to the Instructor, you can then mark the ticket as "Contacted."
Use "In-Progress" for tickets in which you are awaiting a call from the student or are getting further clarification. It is easy to forget about tickets left "In-Progress" so you may want to put a reminder on your calendar to check on the ticket the next day.
No Action Required means the instructor submitted the ticket as an FYI only, and the student does not need to be contacted. We also use this from time to time when instructors submit tickets for missing Proctored Exams, but the student was called during a recent call cycle, so there is no need to contact them again.
You may be able to mark some SEADS tickets as no action required, and we've added new templates to the Note to Instructor section for these circumstances. See below for two cases. If you're not sure if these situations apply to your SEADS tickets, chat Chelsea or Nikki and ask them to take a look.
