This concept captures the diversity of the representation in the films we selected and the fact that several films deal with power dynamics related to who gets to control narratives.

Over the span of 6 weeks, we will provide introductions and faculty Q&As to accompany the free screenings of 6 hand-selected films.

The event is a collaborative and interdisciplinary festival that brings together UWG faculty from International Languages and Cultures, English, Film Studies, and History.
The event is a collaborative and interdisciplinary festival that brings together UWG faculty from International Languages and Cultures, English, Film Studies, and History.
We want to help place international film at the center of film studies, rather than on the margins as sometimes can occur in the U.S. The film festival will also emphasize the vibrancy and reach of our French program and shows that specializing in French is not just about learning the French language, but also connecting the study of Francophone cultures to numerous other fields.
