Peer Tutoring

After the first grading period, the school counseling department works with WGMS students to find Peer Tutors for the school year. Peer Tutors must meet high academic and behavioral standards. Once selected, Peer Tutors volunteer their time, at least one study hall per week, to help their fellow classmates with homework, study skills, and/or organization. Students who would like to be a Peer Tutor must submit an application to be a peer tutor, have 3 teacher recommendations, and have received a 3.0 or higher GPA for the previous grading period.

Peer tutoring takes place in a specific location (TBD) and is overseen by the counselor. Parents requesting Peer Tutoring for their child should complete a permission slip and contact Mrs. Weisbarth.Â
