Reading/Wit and Wisdom:
We will COMPLETE our final module of the year, Module 4! Students examined how choosing to eat healthy foods can impact their lives. The module began with an investigation of the digestive system. Students conducted shared research related to organs of the digestive system, and they independently wrote an informative paragraph detailing the important jobs of one organ. Then, students shifted their focus from informative texts toward two literary texts: Stone Soup and Bone Button Borscht both versions of the classic folktale, highlight how food has the potential to help bring communities together! Students also examined informational text. They conducted research using 2 sources to help them choose a fruit or vegetable to nourish their bodies. They used this new knowledge to write an opinion paragraph and use text evidence! Wow!! We learned so much from this module! 😃
