It is incredibly important to check your Google Classrooms and your grades in Infinite Campus OFTEN!!!!

Math understanding comes from participation and practice! I am excited to see how you work through problems, check over your work, and use your math skills in real life situations. Get ready to work hard and be willing to practice at home. Success will come!

Grading:

Unit Tests / Test Corrections / Homework / Math Facts

Unit Tests: There will be a unit test after units 1-7. A study guide will be sent home at least a few days before the test with similar like questions.

Test Corrections :(a student can earn half of their missed points back)

Due one week from receiving the graded test

Done on a separate piece of paper stapled to the original test

Number the problem and rewrite it

1-2 complete sentences explaining the error and what you need to do to fix it

Show all the work needed to get the correct answer, and circle to correct answer

Homework points: BOTH Home Connections pages and weekly math practice

2 points for every homework assignment COMPLETED and turned in ON TIME --assignments turned in late can earn 1 point (must be turned in before the end of that unit)

*Homework page MUST have the student's name on it to receive proper credit!!!

Timed Tests:

Two attempts each quarter. Best grade for that quarter will be recorded into overall math grade.

1st quarter: addition and subtraction

2nd quarter: addition, subtraction, and multiplication

3rd quarter: addition, subtraction, and multiplication

4th quarter: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

IXL computer work

Very valuable practice done during I/E time and at home. Not calculated into their percentage grade, but used as a form of assessing the standards and can earn extra credit and homework passes!!
