RBI, Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities is an initiative fueled by the MLB to increase baseball interest and play in urban and city kids in America. Their target is to popularize the game with those who haven't gotten the chance to play on teams and have proper training. RBI is trying to restore and rebuild passion for both baseball and softball within inner city kids. They fund the Boys & Girls Clubs of America with proper practice and expand the age leagues of 13 to 15 and 16 to 18. RBI teams that constitute Club leagues qualify for clinics, eight regional tournaments, and the national RBI tournament. The initiative has reached more than 200 cities and about 150,000 baseball and softball players every year. RBI is fond of education, and offers annual scholarships up to $5,000 to twelve players who display leadership, academic success and financial necessity.
