Welcome! The Day School Library serves approximately 350 students in grades 3-5, the staff and the Day School community.
The collection has approximately 12,000 materials including books, audio books, DVDs and videos that can be searched using the Destiny online catalog.
Students also participate in weekly Library Classes where they will listen to a read-aloud, explore the library through hands-on activities, check out reading materials from our diverse book collection, and participate in quiet reading time.
Both the collection and the Library Classes have been developed to support the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and to foster a love of reading.
The Day Library is open from 8:15-2:30 Monday through Friday.

Students come to the library once each week with their class at a regularly scheduled time. During this time students may choose a book and keep it for one week. If the book is not returned, students will need to wait until it is returned to take out a new book. Overdue notices will be sent out once the book is two weeks overdue.
When a book is returned, students may, then, select a new book. The library is open every morning at the beginning of school for the exchange of materials. This includes the exchange of an overdue book as well as the return of books finished before the scheduled library time.
If a book is lost, please communicate with the library staff to make arrangements regarding replacement cost. Of course, we will reimburse you for a book that is paid and found at a later date.
