Blocksi is an advanced extension used by many school districts to keep students from visiting “non-educational websites.” However, this can be troublesome if you want to visit a website to perform a short or sometimes educational tasks. In this guide we will show you how to disable Blocksi in order to visit these websites. Warning: We are not liable for any of the consequences you might face when removing this extension.
Method # 1: Using the Task Manager (Temporary)
This method involves the task manager on ChromeOS, which you can open by clicking Search + Escape at the same time. After opening the manager you will notice that there are a bunch of processes happening on your computer. Scroll down, to find the task named “Blocksi.”
After doing this click that process, followed by pressing your enter key on your keyboard. This will end Blocksi's process, for a short period of time. But before Blocksi can come back, you will need to kill all of its service workers (and the extra ones at the bottom of the page). In this example I have an extra one for one of my extensions that I will also need to kill. Your workers may not look the same as mine.
Quickly after doing this you will need to kill all of your utilities over and over again by clicking the top one, and spamming the enter key. You will need to continue spamming for about thirty seconds to one minute to complete the hack.
After you have completed these steps, Blocksi should be disabled for your Chromebook. If however it is not you will need to power-wash your computer to default settings, and then once logging back in, immediately open the task manager, and complete the hack.
Note: When logging back in do NOT open any new tabs or interact with your Chrome Browser.
Important: Make sure you do all of these steps before Blocksi pops back into your task manager which will only be a few seconds. This task is hard to do but is manageable with some practice.
