Student Assistance Coordinators have extensive training and experience in the field of substance use and mental health. SACs deliver prevention, intervention, and educationals services to students and the school community. SACs are available to provide confidential counseling and referral services for at-risk students and their parents/guardians.
SACs can support students and their families who are facing challenges that may include, but not limited to, the following:
Substance Use and Misuse
Depression and Suicide Prevention
Anxiety and Mood Disorders
Adjustment and Transition
Peer and Social Challenges
Gender and Sexuality
Eating Disorders
Loss/Grief
SACs can also help students and families find appropriate community resources, such as therapists, substance use treatment facilities, and mental health treatment programs. Referrals can be made by the students, staff, parents/guardians or other concerned individuals. Referrals made to SACs and any subsequent information gathered remains confidential.
