Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to first grade! My name is Mrs. Redman, and I am excited to begin a new school year together. First grade is such an important year of learning and growth. We will be working on reading, writing, math, science, and more while also practicing responsibility, kindness, and teamwork.
To start the year, your child will need their school supplies, a reusable water bottle, and a healthy, small snack each day (Please pack separately from lunch). Just as important, they’ll need to bring a positive attitude, effort, and support from home.
I will do my best each day to create a safe, supportive classroom where students feel comfortable learning and trying new things. Please know that I value open communication. If you ever have questions or concerns, you can reach me by email at tredman@westfieldnjk12.org . I’ll also be using the “Remind” app for sending daily homework and updates throughout the year to keep you informed.
