Chorus

Chorus is a requirement outlined by the Westfield Fine Arts curriculum and the Elementary Handbook.  It provides an opportunity for all fifth graders in Westfield to develop proper vocal technique, learn self discipline, and gain ensemble experience through positive and focused weekly rehearsals.  Attendance at both rehearsals and concerts is required with concerts being presented to the school and public. The Franklin 5th Grade Chorus has worked hard over the years to bring its audiences quality concerts. When programming, many factors are considered such as tessitura, multicultural influences, cross-curricular connections, foreign languages, harmonies, etc. The Chorus has been featured on the radio a few times and was selected as NJ 101.5's finalists and winners for their Christmas Choir contest.
