In Sociology we study the ways in which groups interact and how societies are structured. We examine how structures within societies influence outcomes for individuals and especially groups. We closely examine deviance and criminology as well as the role of power and prestige within cultures.
The course is taught with a wide array of media including short and long films, readings, etc. Current events are discussed as applicable. Class discussion is the heart of the course. Multiple perspectives are presented whenever possible.
