Geometry Periods 2 & 8

In this course students study concepts of Euclidean geometry through the analysis of two- and three- dimensional figures. They make, test, and establish the validity of geometric conjectures using logical reasoning and deduction. The interdisciplinary nature of mathematics is emphasized by the integration of algebra with geometric concepts, as well as applications to art and science. Students will be encouraged to apply and improve their algebra skills while solving geometry problems. Numerous opportunities for additional review and reinforcement are embedded throughout the course.

This class will encourage math discussions to help the development of problem solving, communication, and higher level thinking.
