Engineering & Design

Students in this year-long course will develop engineering habits of mind as they discover engineering’s role in shaping and improving the world. The course begins with an introductory unit detailing engineering branches and norms. The remainder of the course is divided into explorations and design challenges, which include:

• CAD Fundamentals

• Product Redesign

• Biomimicry

• Electrical engineering - Programming with the Arduino

• Mechanical engineering - Catapult Challenge

• Aerospace engineering - Glider Challenge

• Civil engineering - Bridge Challenge

Engineering Design meets a graduation requirement for Practical Arts.
