Hello! My name is Lauren Christie and I am so excited to be a part of the Wilson community this school year! This is my third year at Wilson School, but I have been teaching in Westfield for the past 18 years. After receiving my undergraduate degree from Boston College, I began my teaching career at Jefferson School. There I taught first grade for 7 years and second grade for 11 years. I value professional development; I have contributed to district-wide curriculum writing, participated in leadership committees, and served as a building literacy coach while at Jefferson. I also value parent communication; family insight and experiences play an important role in every student’s academic development. Lastly, I value creating a classroom community where all students feel important and appreciated; I have been using Responsive Classroom for the past 15 years. I truly want my students to love school and to become caring, enthusiastic lifelong learners!
