I am a graduate of Wesleyan University, Middletown, CT and Seton Hall Law School. I was admitted to the NJ State Bar in 1995 and practiced law full time until 2007, when I earned my teaching certificate from the NJ Department of Education. This is my 17th year teaching social studies and my 13th year at Westfield High School. I am a strong proponent of inquiry and project based learning and challenge all of my students to become active global citizens. I am the 2016 co-recipient of the James Becker Award for Global Understanding and the recipient of the 2016 Christa McAuliffe Reach for the Stars Award, both granted by the National Council for the Social Studies. I am the advisor to a number of clubs at WHS, including the Jewish Cultural and Development Club, the Mock Trial Team, Speaking Out Initiative, Student Support Initiative and Supplies for Success. I am also the co-chair of the No Place for Hate Committee and a PAL tutor. I live in Fanwood with my husband Michael and our two children, Michael and Cara.
