Biology

This course introduces students to the study of life by progressing from the microscopic level up to worldwide ecosystems. Class discussion is directed toward relating the material to human experiences. The laboratory provides a hands-on learning setting and encourages students to develop skills in observation, data collection, critical thinking and report writing. The course includes, but is not limited to, such topics as the scientific method, cell biochemistry, respiration and photosynthesis, mitosis and meiosis, classical genetics, anatomy and physiology, evolution and ecology
