I am a teacher who loves to learn and connect with my students. I enjoy seeing students grow intellectually and socially each school year, as well as make real world connections to the coming of age literature we explore in English I.
As a teacher, I hope to continue cultivating a positive classroom environment where students authentically engage in skill-building reading and writing tasks as well as collaborative learning experiences which foster self-management and speaking/listening skills, such as book clubs and group projects.
I am thrilled to begin my twelfth year teaching at Westfield High School! Additionally, I act as the Coordinator to the Transition Program which helps freshmen students connect with each other and the WHS community through the guidance of upperclassmen peer leaders. I am a graduate of Rutgers Graduate School of Education and Douglass College as well as an alumna of Westfield High School.
When I'm not teaching I enjoy time with my husband and two kids, family and friends, reading the news, eating tacos, and shopping at Trader Joe's. I'm looking forward to another great school year!
