COURSE INFORMATION

Algebra I often is viewed as the gateway to future success in higher mathematics, post-secondary studies in math-related fields and a wide variety of careers. In this course, students strengthen their understanding of basic algebraic concepts and acquire both skills and the conceptual foundation needed for advanced mathematics. They learn to use symbolic reasoning, equations and functions to represent, analyze and interpret situations and apply algebraic reasoning to solve problems. In addition, they become more adept at communicating mathematically and justifying their thinking.
