All City Chorus FAQs
1. How do I audition for All-City Chorus? If you are interested in being considered for All-City Chorus, you will simply indicate that to Mrs. Colabaugh during your mid-year choral evaluation, a one-on-one meeting that takes place in January and February during chorus time in which Mrs. Colabaugh will listen to you sing simple patterns and a bit of music from the winter concert.
2. How many students are selected from each school to participate in All-City Chorus? All-City Chorus is comprised of 100 students from all six elementary schools; the number of students sent by each school is determined by the size of each fifth grade class compared to the overall number of fifth graders in the district. This year, 19 students will be selected from Tamaques School and 15 students will be selected from Washington School.
3. Who are the All-City chorus directors? Mr. Brent Geyer (from Franklin School) and Ms. Christina Toulios (from Lincoln/McKinley Schools)
4. Where are the rehearsals? At Franklin and McKinley Schools
5. When are the rehearsals? Before school (approximately 7:30-8:30), usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
6. When is the concert? Thursday, June 5th.
7. Can I be in All-City Chorus AND All-City Band or Orchestra? Yes. In fact, you can do all three.
8. When will we find out the results? Results will be posted on Mrs. Colabaugh's website at 3:15 on February 22nd.
