Parking and Traffic Reminders

PLEASE follow the traffic and parking rules to ensure everyone's safety and an orderly arrival/dismissal to and from school and to avoid getting a summons/citation from the WPD. 

The Westfield Police Department (WPD) may issue tickets (which you will receive in the mail) for violations such as:

• Obstructing or impeding the flow of traffic (i.e. loading/unloading behind parked vehicles in our parking lots; stopping at the cross-hatched yellow lines)

• Double parking

• Parking too close to or blocking a crosswalk or STOP sign

• Failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk

• Doing U-Turns on the streets surrounding the school

• Parking in a handicapped space without the proper permit or license plate

• Idling your vehicle in the drop-off/pick-up zones

To help maintain a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal, please remember the following guidelines:

• Crosswalk Safety: Always come to a complete stop at crosswalks and carefully observe for pedestrians and bicyclists before proceeding.

• Minimize Distractions: Please minimize personal distractions such as talking/texting on the cell phone, while driving in the school zone.

• Limit Parking in the Summit Avenue and Boulevard Lots during arrival as our staff need clear access to begin their day.

• Car Drop-Off on Landsdowne: For the designated car drop-off area, please remain in your vehicle and allow your child to exit curbside. This helps to keep the line moving smoothly and safely.
